The Role
Herzum is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Architect to join our team lead the design, implementation, and management of the Cloud infrastructure and applications on GCP for one of our Clients. The candidate will play a critical role in defining and executing the cloud strategy, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness, while collaborating closely with global teams in an agile environment. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of cloud architecture principles, extensive experience with GCP services, strong integration expertise, and a passion for leveraging cutting-edge technologies, including GenAI, to drive innovation.

Responsibilities:
Source Integration Architecture:
- Design robust, scalable, and secure solutions for integrating various data sources with our GCP environment.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive architectural diagrams, documentation, and standards for source integrations.
- Lead the migration of existing source integrations to GCP, optimizing for performance and cost.
- Evaluate and recommend new GCP services and technologies to enhance our integration capabilities.
Collaboration and Technical Leadership:
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders across different countries to ensure seamless integration of applications with the GCP platform.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to global teams on GCP best practices, architectural patterns, and integration strategies.
- Actively participate in all phases of the Agile methodologies, using Azure DevOps for project management and collaboration.
- Facilitate technical design reviews and contribute to architectural decision-making within a globally distributed team.
Security Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with the security team to ensure the security of our GCP environment and source integrations.
- Provide architectural guidance and support for security initiatives, such as penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
- Align architectural decisions with security policies and standards.
GenAI Support and Integration:
- Explore and evaluate the potential of GenAI technologies within our GCP environment.
- Contribute to the development of GenAI solutions and their integration with existing systems.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements and best practices in GenAI.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and innovations in cloud computing, particularly within the GCP ecosystem and integration technologies.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve our cloud architecture, processes, and tools, with a focus on enhancing source integration efficiency and effectiveness.
- Champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the global team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or in a similar role with a strong focus on GCP and data integration.
- Extensive knowledge of GCP services, including those relevant to data integration, such as Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and Dataproc.
- Deep understanding of cloud architecture principles, design patterns, and integration best practices.
- Strong understanding of security concepts, including identity and access management, network security, and data protection, with a focus on integration security.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a globally distributed team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences across different cultures.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps for project management and collaboration.
- Relevant certifications, such as the Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect are highly desirable.
- Proficiency in English.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the telecom industry.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with data integration tools and technologies, such as Apache Kafka, Apache NiFi, and MuleSoft.
- Proficiency in multiple languages.
- Familiarity with GenAI technologies and their applications.
